ItalianoAn international artistic initiative will soon take place in Rome which we have heard about and which we consider very interesting and meritorious. It is an exhibition of artists invited from all over the world to meet metaphorically in the current “desert” of values to propose, each in their own way, a common creative and constructive message to a world that seems increasingly in the hands of confused minds that they can’t stop talking only about war. The people are dumbfounded and still don’t know how to react to this decline which is increasingly risking ending very badly. On the other hand, wars and conflicts in general are certainly not wanted by people, given that they have always paid for them and only they have suffered the consequences.
These artists define themselves as “NOMADS OF THE FUTURE” and in a world in an identity crisis and devastated by conflicts and migrations, their initiative seems one of the few messages capable of proposing positivity and recovery of values.
In this Easter 2024, a first sign of “resurrection” and constructiveness would be particularly useful.
I don’t know if this episode will be an end in itself or is just the prelude to something even bigger. We will ask the organizers in the next few days. But the idea is already excellent, a confirmation of the fact that over the centuries culture has all too often contributed to remedying, with its own “diplomatic” and universal style, the atrocities of politics and economics, re-establishing the necessary harmony between human beings and between them and Nature.
We will interview the organizers as soon as possible to give you more details.

Desert images and new nomads in contemporary art
The initiative was taken by an association of young artists, “Arte a Fresa”, which took charge of obtaining the space for the exhibition at the “Medina Art Gallery” in Rome, in via Angelo Poliziano 34.
The exhibition
The exhibition of paintings, sculptures and photographs is entitled “Nomads of the Future”, subtitle: “New images of the desert in contemporary art”.
It takes place from 17 to 23 May 2024 and entry is free.
The organizers have launched a universal invitation to painters, sculptors, photographers and other artists (digital, multimedia, etc.), challenging them to bring works on the theme of the desert to Rome, interpreting this subject in a metaphorical sense too, as a “desert” of feelings and positive values, aridity of good intentions, mutual understanding and respect, possibly also to present one’s own proposals to restore oxygen to a human civilization that is once again and more capable of building beauty, capable of being in harmony with Nature.
The initiative taken in Italy will be followed up in London (UK) in the autumn and, probably (I would suggest), it could soon arrive in many other cities around the world, enabling a growing number of artists to participate and contribute, that is, making the message increasingly powerful and unavoidable.

A project which, if it took this approach, could also find one or more sponsors and public patronage (making up for the current very appreciable cost coverage by organizers and artists), given the extremely positive value of the initiative and the constructive message that is broadcast and disseminated internationally, even more so in this gloomy atmosphere of “inevitable third world war”, which is not inevitable at all.
Nor can it be ruled out that other forms of art might also join forces, such as music, ballet, theatre, cinema, etc.
The Artistic Residency
Furthermore, following the tradition started by the organization that was born in 1997 in Amsterdam, “NOMADI, Unione Internazionale di Artisti” (NOMADS, International Union of Artists), before the exhibition in Rome the artists will be able to participate in a residential artistic activity in Abruzzo , in a small village of just over 900 inhabitants, Fresagrandinaria, in the province of Chieti, staying in the houses made available, as in a “widespread hotel”.
